{"id":741,"date":"2021-07-22T19:01:50","date_gmt":"2021-07-22T19:01:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/faysom.com\/?page_id=741"},"modified":"2023-01-10T19:17:49","modified_gmt":"2023-01-10T19:17:49","slug":"student-policies","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/faysom.com\/index.php\/student-policies\/","title":{"rendered":"Student Policies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Fayetteville School of Music, LLC<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><a id=\"Top\"><\/a>Student Policies<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#Registration\">Registration\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#Discounts\">Discounts<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#Payment-Agreement\">Payment Agreement<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#Attendance-and-discipline\">Attendance and discipline<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#Disruptive-behavior\">Disruptive behavior<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#Weather\">Inclement Weather<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#Recitals\">Recitals<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Payment of fees assumes acceptance of FaySOM Student Policies regarding payment, attendance and discipline<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a id=\"Registration\"><\/a>Registration\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#Top\"><em>Back to the top<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1) Registration is on a first come, first served basis<\/span><b>. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Both in person and online registration are available<\/span><b>. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To ensure a convenient lesson time, it is advisable that students register at least a week prior to the start of each semester (Fall, Spring, Summer).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2) Spring schedules will stay the same as the Fall, if tuition of continuing students is received at least one week prior to the start of the Spring semester.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3) Lesson times will be scheduled before the beginning of each semester.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">4) Students <\/span><b>must register for full terms <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(or full remaining terms, if registering after January 19th\/2021).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">5) We encourage students to use our online registration form on our website<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.faysom.com\/\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">www.faysom.com<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please contact the Director of FaySOM, Dr. Carlos Castilla, if you need to register in person.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">6) Monthly payment options are available. Monthly payments should be done on the first day or 15th of the month depending on your particular payment arrangement.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">7) Please, keep in mind that should you want to register in person, you would need to provide a check payable to Fayetteville School of Music, LLC. There is a $30 fee for each returned check.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">8) Prior semester account balances must be paid in full before registering for a new semester.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#Top\"><em>Back to the top<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<a id=\"Discounts\"><\/a><strong>Discounts<\/strong>: available discounts are as follows<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3%\u00a0off \u2013 full payment of 18 weeks (Fall or Spring)*<\/li>\n<li>5% Military discount (Must present active duty military I.D and pay in full)*<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><strong>Note:\u00a0 Only one discount can be used at a time.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>* Discounts apply only for Fall and Spring, not for the Summer.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#Top\"><em>Back to the top<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><a id=\"Payment-Agreement\"><\/a>Payment Agreement<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a id=\"Payment-Agreement\"><\/a>Please, keep in mind that although monthly payments are available, your registration is effective for a full semester. If it becomes necessary to withdraw from instruction for any reason, the student must provide written notice of termination to the Director of the School. Refunds will only be issued during the first 7 days of enrollment. No refunds will be issued to any student who withdraws after the second week of lessons. <\/span><b>This also applies to military families that have to undergo a permanent change of station (PCS) before the end of the semester.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Important:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>If monthly payment arrangements were made, the student is still responsible for the remaining balance of the entire semester after withdrawing.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#Top\"><em>Back to the top<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b><a id=\"Attendance-and-discipline\"><\/a>Attendance and discipline<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1) Attendance is expected for the full term. The student should notify the teacher if a lesson needs to be canceled due to illness. The instructor is not required to make up lessons cancelled by the students; <\/span><b>however, we would do our best to reschedule up to one lesson cancelled or rescheduled due to illness.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Please, contact your instructor promptly to discuss make-up options. Should an instructor miss a lesson, the instructor is required to make-up lessons in a mutually arranged time before the end of the semester.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2) Students should remain in the premises of FaySOM for the entire duration of the student\u2019s lesson. If a parent plans to drop off and pick up the student at the school, please do so in a manner that the student is picked up exactly after finishing his\/her lesson. At no time a student should remain unattended. Please, call our office in the case that you are anticipating being late to pick up your child.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#Top\"><em>Back to the top<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><a id=\"Disruptive-behavior\"><\/a>Disruptive behavior<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students must refrain from engaging in disruptive behavior while in the premises of FaySOM. Disruptive behavior includes:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Discourteous treatment of other students, parents, or faculty<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Use of foul language<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Running or being loud while lessons are taking place<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Coming unprepared to lessons (visible lack of practice, not bringing materials, etc\u2026)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Being unresponsive to the instructor\u2019s directions<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">FaySOM reserves the right to terminate any lesson agreement with students who exhibit disruptive behavior.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For parents: In the case of children constantly struggling to focus or keeping a good behavior throughout the lesson, we would need the parent to be present during the whole lesson.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Parents should not solicit our instructors to provide make-up lessons or any lesson whatsoever outside of the premises of FaySOM.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The students will not be allowed to have any candy, chewing gum, etc&#8230;during lesson time.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Excellent hygiene is expected from all students while attending lessons at FaySOM.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The use of alcohol and tobacco products is prohibited within the premises of FaySOM.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No guns (open carry or concealed carry) are allowed within the premises of FaySOM.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Payment of fees assumes acceptance of FaySOM Student Policies regarding payment, attendance and discipline<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a href=\"#Top\"><em>Back to the top<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong><a id=\"Weather\"><\/a>Inclement Weather<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the case of inclement weather, FaySOM will remain open while driving conditions are safe, and follow Cumberland County School closings and schedule of operations if conditions become dangerous. We would send an email with details about our hours of operations, in the event of class cancellation due to inclement weather. In addition, please follow our Facebook page for news on inclement weather closings.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Make up lessons due to inclement weather will be honored <\/span><b>only <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in case of FaySOM closing.
